"Raise Awareness, Provide Education and Other Resources, and Contribute New Knowledge to Prevent and Manage Kidney Disease in People of African Caribbean Descent
About Us
Welcome to the official website of the African Caribbean Kidney Association (ACKA). We are a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and empowering black individuals and communities in their journey toward kidney health.
Our mission is to raise awareness, provide education and other resources, and contribute new knowledge to prevent and manage kidney disease, specifically among African & Caribbean people in Canada, who are disproportionately affected by this condition. Through advocacy, community engagement, and collaboration with healthcare professionals, we strive to positively impact the lives of black individuals living with kidney disease.
Our Commitment to you and our community
At ACKA, we understand the unique challenges the black community faces regarding kidney health. We are committed to addressing these disparities and improving outcomes for black individuals with kidney disease through awareness and education initiatives, and contributing to and reporting on relevant research
